Freelance Producer
Constella is looking to hire a producer with experience in financial management and fundraising to join the Constella team on a freelance basis.

Key Accountabilities
Financial Management
Support Financial Management of Constella’s Connecting Stars Project and Constella productions

Maintain accounting ledger (cash based)

Budgeting and financial management (reconcile invoices and timesheets against budget or booking system, maintain accounts, process payments, …)
-
Assist in preparing financials for trustee meetings, independent examination of the accounts
-
Prepare client invoices and monitor payments
​Fundraising
Constella’s continued success is dependent on grant income, business sponsorship, donations and ticket sales. Therefore, we will require your assistance with writing grant applications and other fundraising initiatives

Assist in preparing financial requirements (company and project budgets) for Arts Council England, other grant providers and business sponsors

Prepare project financials – review requirements

Assist in drafting fundraising applications

Manage and maintain our fundraising database
Production support
In addition to providing financial and project management support, there will be opportunities to support production planning and delivery, involving:

Research

Maintain contact sheets and distribution lists for productions

Minute production meetings and follow up on agreed actions

Support the creative producer to plan and deliver productions

Support performances
General Administration and project management
-
Assist with the overall daily management of our Connecting Stars Initiative

Manage Connecting Stars artists and care home bookings, using our booking application

Assist with issue resolution

Minute project and trustee meetings

Monitor and manage the info@constella.org.uk mailbox
Social Media Management
Constella relies on social media to generate interest in its projects and productions and it would be a plus if you also enjoy proposing and writing engaging content and posting social media updates on our various channels incl. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Post regular updates on our social media accounts: e.g. photos of artists engaged, performances, funding target updates, successes.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Performing Arts
Passionate about the performing arts, including music, opera and ballet
Finance and Accounting
Accounting degree or some experience either as working as a finance assistant, a project office management or other relevant role is essential.
Experience and knowledge of booking software and accounting applications would be desirable.
Confident in preparing and monitoring budgets,
People Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible, tactful, responsive and calm approach
Understand needs of artists and customers and has the ability to instil confidence
Care home/ Social care sector
Interested in making a positive difference to the lives of care home residents
Other Skills
Proficient Microsoft Office User, good knowledge of Word & Excel
Familiar with Google Drive
Experienced user of Social Media: understands what works for which social media channel, how to write a post, analyse relevant data
Strong communication and organisational skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Confident working independently, take initiative and excellent time management
Happy to take initiative
Flexibility to work varied hours, depending on demand
Location
Working from home,
Regular company team meeting via Zoom or in person
Monthly team meeting in Somerset House
Production and rehearsal venues
Hours
min. 10h/ week; between 10am-4pm; ideally Thursdays, Fridays with a weekly virtual Constella team meeting on Monday mornings.
Remuneration
Hourly rate £12/h, negotiable depending on skills and experience
