In 2017, Constella provided professional development opportunities for 240 young people from deprived, ex-mining communities in Kent and Yorkshire. In two days of outreach work led by established young artists, two public showcases were created, featuring a fusion of opera, ballet and theatre. Constella will then use material from the project as influences within the main Canary Boys production, which will premeiere in 2018.

Constella is partnering up with Morley College to offer a one and half day performance masterclass for dancers, conductors and singers in late January 2018 culminating in a public performance with professional musicians. Created as a professional production, students will work with Constella artists to explore and perform key opera, ballet and opera-ballet repertoire. The masterclass will provide students with industry experience, enhance their performance portfolio and develop their art. The repertoire will comprise Constella’s critically acclaimed productions: Stravinsky's Soldier’s Tale and Renard, Leo Geyer's Sideshows and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

In February 2018, Constella will be in residency at West Kent College. The masterclass week will be based around the Constella OperaBallet already acclaimed production Sideshows, an unhinged circus extravaganza, featuring an explosive jazz-inspired score written by Leo Geyer.
Selected students will spend five days learning about the creative process involved in developing a large-scale production. This masterclass will offer a hands on experience to students from a variety of disciplines, including performers, writers, producers, designers and many more.
The project will culminate in a performance featuring Constella artists and students from West Kent College.
