24-year old, Leo Geyer studied composition and conducting at Manchester University, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Leo has been awarded various accolades for composition including the RNCM Gold Medal Award, PRS / ESO Composition Competition and the Philip Bates Prize. His work has been performed by worldwide as well as broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. Leo has had particular success with his theatrical works including his first opera which was hailed by The Times as “imaginative and beautifully shaped.” Recent projects include works for the BBC Singers, Opera North and the Manchester Camerata.
Leo currently works at the Royal Opera House as a Cover Conductor for The Royal Ballet. Leo is also conductor Khymerikal and Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra. He is also the founder and Artistic Director of Constella OperaBallet, whose performances have received critical acclaim such as their recent production at the Grimeborn Opera Festival - “Such rare artistic fun was a fine demonstration of the depth of talent”, Daily Express. Upcoming guest conducting engagements include Dido and Aeneas with Helios Collective and a concert of American works with the English Chamber Orchestra.
