Choreographer

Born in Worcestershire UK George trained at Elmhurst School For Dance and English National Ballet School where his choreographic work began. Whilst at English National Ballet School George won the Choreographic Competition for three consecutive years and the CTRL-ALT-SHIFT Award. Ballets created included, Round the Corner 2009 presented at the Peacock Theatre and the City of London Festival. In 2010 he created Ana-Chro-Po for English National Ballet School’s summer performance.

 

Upon graduation in 2010 George joined Polish National Ballet under the Artistic Direction of Krzysztof Pastor, where he danced classical and contemporary roles and for Polish National Ballet he created Animus in 2011. Whilst dancing with Polish National Ballet, Wayne Eagling invited George to choreograph on English National Ballet and Firebird was his first commission that received its world premiere at the London Coliseum in March 2012. For New English Ballet Theatre Threefold in 2012. In September 2012 George was appointed Associate Artist of English Nation Ballet by Tamara Rojo. My First Cinderella, premiered at the Peacock Theatre on 27 March 2013 presented by English National Ballet and English National Ballet School. In 2013 George received a nomination for the Benois de la Danse Award for his creation of Firebird and created Tempus for The Queen’s Coronation Festival in the Gardens of Buckingham Palace. For Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company he created Dawn Dances. George was a Rolex Mentor and Potege Arts Initiative 2014 finalist. For Constella Ballet & Orchestra he created three new ballets which were performed at Sadler’s Wells Lilian Baylis Theatre.

 

Through his work George is aiming to produce inventive artistic experiences, for and beyond the main-stage, for wider public benefit. Striving to push the boundaries of ballet, as well as those of the surrounding art-forms, such as costume, music, film and lighting. This vision involves creating new artistic synergies across art-forms and to invigorate communities by creating pop-up experiences, cultural happenings and live events in non-traditional performance spaces.
